CHRISTMAS STROLL AND PARADE OF LIGHTS

Saturday, December 3rd

Children’s Movie:

“A Christmas Carol”  (Disney/Jim Carey version) will be playing at the Gunport Theater, inside the Old Montana Prison, at 3 pm. Entrance will be via Tower 1 by the Main Entrance to the Museums. FREE

Christmas Stroll:

Taking place on Main Street between 2 pm till 7 pm, three blocks of the central business district (300, 400, 500) will be closed to vehicular traffic. Visit participating businesses in Deer Lodge and check out their Stroll Button Numbers to see if you have won a prize. Stroll Buttons are on sale at ACE Hardware, J & J Variety, Keystone Drug & Gifts, Greany’s Dry Goods, MRC, Old Prison Museum Gift Shop and Valley Foods. They cost $2 each, are limited to 1000, and provide over 100 opportunities for the wearer to win prizes and Chamber Gift Certificates. There will be a $25 and $50 gift certificate drawing in front of Greany’s Dry Goods store at 3:30 pm.

Parade of Lights:

The Parade will start down Main Street at 6 pm. This year’s theme is ‘Home Town Christmas’. The Parade will form on Second Street by NAPA at 5:30 pm and will enter Main Street on Cottonwood Ave. It will proceed south along Main Street ending at Montana Ave where it will disband. NO CANDY THROWING FROM THE FLOATS please. However, helpers can hand out candy from baskets whilst walking alongside the Parade. All businesses, individuals and families are invited to enter the Parade, just ensemble on Second Street by NAPA before 6 pm. Those judged to be the 1st, 2nd and 3rd best in parade will be awarded a Chamber Gift Certificate, handed out to winners at the Christmas tree.

Christmas Tree Lighting:

The official Lighting of the Deer Lodge Christmas Tree will take place immediately following on from the Parade of Lights beside the Post Office.

Drawing for Chamber Gift Certificates:

The second set of drawings, for $25, $50 and $100 Chamber Gift Certificates, will take place after the Lighting of the Community Christmas Tree at the Post Office, following the Parade of Lights. Remember, you must have a Stroll Button and be present to stand a chance of winning.
