“ROCKIN’ TO THE RHYTHM OF SERVICE” CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING COMING TO DEER LODGE ON MAY 12TH
Deer Lodge, Mont. — Representatives of local convenience stores, lodging properties, visitor information centers, museums, outfitters, restaurants and any business greeting visitors to the area are invited, free of charge, to attend the popular “Rockin’ to the Rhythm of Service” seminar in Deer Lodge on Monday, May 12, 2014. The Powell County Chamber of Commerce will host the training in the Pen Convention Center, 925 Main St., Deer Lodge from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Business owners, managers, and front-line staff are encouraged to attend together. Brought to your community by the Montana Office of Tourism and their Tourism Development Program, this fast-paced customer service and tourism training program is custom-designed for Montana hospitality providers. New this year is a special focus on advanced questioning techniques. These techniques help engage and guide your visitors, probe for more information, clarify needs, and lead to productive relationships with your customers. Combining efforts to focus on customer service ensures the viability of Montana’s economic success and its $3 billion tourism industry.
Attendees are encouraged to bring brochures, flyers, or information to share about area businesses and attractions. Each participant will receive a certificate of completion. Pre-registration is required. Please contact session host David Williams at 406.846.2094 or firstname.lastname@example.org to register.
Seminar trainer Becky Henne is a talented facilitator who will motivate attendees to value their role in our tourism industry, expand their knowledge, connect with customers and take a fresh look at ways your business can not only attain rave reviews from visitors, but also keep them returning again and again. With strong connections to the Montana tourism industry, her service examples and suggestions will prompt thoughtful discussions and provide practical skills and tips which can be put to use immediately. Previous participants appreciated learning about the wealth of travel resources available, hearing stories to share from others in their community, obtaining new customer service perspectives and tactics, and experiencing the group interaction.
For anyone unable to attend “Rockin’ to the Rhythm of Service,” a free online, self-paced program, “Lost and Found in Montana,” also is available. For more information, visit http://montanasuperhost.com.
A public meeting with the Montana Department of Transport has been set up for Wednesday 7th May at 6pm at the Pen Convention Center.
Since last month, road construction on I-90 in the Deer Lodge area has had a devastating effect on some of our local businesses and tourist attractions. Prior to this construction, the Powell County Chamber of Commerce, Old Montana Prison Museums, Grant-Kohrs Ranch and SouthWest Montana Tourism contacted the Montana Department of Transport requesting a local meeting be held to listen to ideas that we have in mitigating the effects of these projects. To date, no satisfactory response has been received, and no meeting has been scheduled by the MDT. At the very least, better signage on the approaches and off ramps into Deer Lodge would help.
If you and your business have been affected and you wish to register your ideas and request a local meeting , please contact the following people at these State departments:
MDT, Director – Mike Tooley – (406)-444-6201 – email@example.com
