The 21st Annual Territorial Day started with the Prison Break run, organized this year by the Deer Lodge Athletic Association. Proceeds benefited the Associations Scholarship Fund. There was a 10K road race starting at 8am, a 5K fun run at 8:30am and a 1K fun run/walk at 9am. Registration began a half hour before race start. Cost was $15 for 1K entrants, $20 for 5K/10K entrants, which included a t-shirt. Races started at the Old Montana Prison.
The Rod Run and Parade started at 11:30am, with participants registering in the Old Montana Prison yard between 9am and 11am. After the parade, which included hot rods, muscle cars and other vehicles and floats, the Jaywalkers Jamboree and Sidewalk Sale opened on Main Street, together with the Show and Shine and the Pioneer Power & Tractor Associations Antique Tractor Show. Vendors sold T-Shirts, jackets, jewelry, die-cast vehicles, toys, art and crafts, African artifacts, and many other items.
